Drank a glass of a better than expected wine last night from Seghesio. Wasn’t a full on cabernet, but the 2006 Seghesio Defiant. Very surprised. Most of the Seghesio’s I have in my itty bitty cellar seem to be about the same, save a few of the club only bottles. This Defiant decanted for about an hour, smelled of berry jam, pepper, jerky, and some soily funk, and mouth fell just about the same. Really well balanced and fresh fruit, though a bit of heat at the end. Just a bit. Dry Creek Valley fruit, and freaking great drinking. It had this vegetarian really craving to eat some grilled meat tonight with the remainder of the bottle. We will see. We will see.

Seghesio Zinfandel is great too! Normally, I don’t like
Zinfandels, but this one is good! love wine posts! Keep them coming!
